I met my husband in high school. We were in Debate Club together, we were even briefly debate partners. But mostly we were friends and then, suddenly, we were more than friends. We married in college, when we were both just twenty. In retrospect, far too young… except that it worked. We’ve been married for 16 years and honestly, he’s totally my best friend.
If you ever set up appearances or blog stuff with me, you’ll talk to him. He signed on to be my assistant, so you’ll see how nice he is. But you probably won’t get to see how bold he is. He’s all about the experience. When he decides to do something, he just does it. It’s how we ended up in China and he thought he was getting knives thrown at him. It’s how we decided to give up our life in Illinois and start a grand adventure in Arizona. I may have had a hand in thinking those things up, but I’m not sure I wuld have done the follow-through.
Today is his birthday. He has a grand plan that I’m not supposed to tell people about, but it has to do with kindness. Which is just the type of person he is. And he’s all mine. 🙂
So Happy Birthday Baby! I’m lucky to have you in my life.
