Taking a Break

I want to start this blog by saying how much I love all of you who come here. You are a very lovely, loyal band of readers who are always so kind and so sweet and so giving. Whatever comes after this, I want you to know how much I've appreciated the support since Married With Zombies came out in 2010. But the time has come for me to face a bitter truth, both for me and maybe for some of you. The merry band of Jesse Petersen readers just is not big enough and it does not seem to be growing. Today is My Birthday!

poppet with a camera / Birthday Photos / CC BY Yup, the title says it all. Today is my birthday and I'm 30-mushes a hand over her face-something years old today! I'm sure Mike will be doing something awesome that I won't be expecting, No pressure. And I'm sure I'll see the two best nephews ever. Then weekend of fun! Birthday extravaganza! Any suggestions of cool things to do (recalling that I don't drink so getting puke-drunk isn't on my list)? Also, can someone make me that Ghostbusters cake? Read more [...]

On January 2nd I put out a call for questions (in conjunction with a contest) and many of you asked some great ones! Every Wednesday (until I run out of questions), I'll be answering them here! There may be ones that are related, so I'll answer multiple questions at once. You can always add a new questions to the queue by posting them as a comment here. Kelli McElreath asks:I was wondering, with all your short zombie stories will you ever develop them into books. There are several that stuck Read more [...]

Release of The Monsters In Your Neighborhood

Today is one that is a long time coming. It's the release day of The Monsters In Your Neighborhood, the second book in the Club Monstrosity series. Here is a blurb: As one of Frankenstein’s Creatures, Natalie Gray knows that unique parts sometimes make up a great whole. Still, leading a diverse support group for monsters—now including Cthulhu!—isn’t an easy task. Especially not since the internet arrived. New York City embraces the different and the bizarre. Still, even for such a fun-loving Read more [...]

On the Six

I was challenged to post the sixth sentence of the sixth page of a book in my collection. So here it goes: "No particularly demonic thoughts were giong through his head." -- Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett See, now I just can't think about anything but demonic thoughts. Very demon-y... So, how about you? Any 6th sentence from the 6th page posts you want to share? Order Club Monstrosity Amazon Order Club Monstrosity Barnes and Noble Read more [...]

You’re A List-maker, Dream-maker…

For as long as I can remember, I've been a list-maker. I'm sure this started somewhere, as I certainly couldn't have been making lists along the womb wall (or perhaps I was, I was a rotten child), but someplace it started and has continued. I make lists of places to go, lists of things to buy, lists of upcoming celebrations, lists of book ideas and of course, there is my to do list, which is now in the form of a to-do mousepad. When I finish, buy, write or celebrate an item, I cross it off. When Read more [...]

On January 2nd I put out a call for questions (in conjunction with a contest) and many of you asked some great ones! Every Wednesday (until I run out of questions), I'll be answering them here! We Represent the Lollipop Guild

I've always liked games. The Game of Life, Monopoly, card games and ultimately video games out the yazoo. However, I'm always looking for games that the husband and I can play together. It's way more fun that way to me. So last year, we found a nerdy, awesome, geeklicious game called Munchkin. Here is the product description from the actual manufacturer: 168 cards, 6 pawns, 6 player cards, game board, rules, and die. What makes this edition "deluxe"? It's got a big game board to keep your cards Read more [...]
